We finished our time at the @imaniwinds Chamber Music Festival with a performance of Viet Cuong's Wax and Wire and the seventh movement of Messiaen's Quatuor pour la fin du temps. It was a concert full of great music!

Before heading back to Kansas, we explored some more of New York and got to meet up with our friend from home @turnehun2 😁

It was incredible to be among so many great musicians during this festival! We had such a great time. Thank you to the Imani Winds and to everyone who helped to support this adventure!

We’ve been rehearsing Wax and Wire by Viet Cuong and Roots by Isaac Santos during the Imani Winds Festival while also making time to explore the city 🧭
Working with @santos.isaac_ on his own piece has been a lot of fun and we can’t wait to premiere it!

We arrived in the city and had a good first day! Walked to Juilliard from Harlem (where we’re staying) through Central Park, and then saw the Imani Winds play their opening concert of the festival. We’re so excited for the upcoming days!!

The quartet has been busy this summer so far! Jacob and Veerle played for a wedding here in Kansas. Zach was just in New York for the Next Festival of Emerging Artists with the Kronos Quartet. Madeline just returned from Osaka, Japan playing with the KU Wind Ensemble at the 2025 World Expo. Exciting times!!

Today we leave for the Imani Winds Festival in NYC! We are so excited! Stay tuned for updates from us as we go on this adventure 🎶
